As the amount of digital document on the web has increased rapidly, the need for efficiently searching and retrieving these documents becomes crucial. The index structure has been considered as the challenging in order to provide fast and relevant information retrieval as per user query. An index is a data structure which is used to promptly find and access the information in a large corpus of database. The various indexing techniques have been proposed based upon many features like keyword occurrence based, keyphrase based, citation based, full-text based, semantic analysis etc. But, there are few shortcomings which need to be addressed. Thus, in this paper, a multi level index structure is proposed which provides sequential as well as direct access to the information in order to provide the fast and relevant retrieval of documents. Proposed index structure is implemented and also analyzed with other existing digital library indexing schemes.
