Research on Restoration and Evaluation of Ancient Text Image Based on Artificial Intelligence Technology

Abstract

This study explores the application of AI technology in ancient text image restoration, comparing different intelligent image restoration tools and using Adobe Photoshop software, which has better results, for image restoration. The restoration steps of color correction, structural reconstruction and detail enhancement were processed, and the effectiveness of AI technology in improving the accuracy and consistency of ancient script restoration was verified by data analysis with three objective assessment tools, PSNR, SSIM and HSV, and one subjective assessment tool, MOS. This study provides a new perspective on the digital preservation of ancient textual images and highlights the theoretical and practical significance of AI in cultural heritage restoration. With the developmental changes in the era of artificial intelligence and digitization, the role of AI in the field of cultural heritage restoration will be further enhanced to make greater contributions to the protection and dissemination of cultural heritage.
