Ethical Challenges in AI Marketing

AI technologies have the potential to transform marketing strategies and consumer engagement, but they also raise ethical and legal concerns. The intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Marketing, and Ethics is a complex and evolving landscape with important implications for businesses, consumers, and regulators. Providing personalized recommendations is the USP of music apps such as Spotify, JioSaavn, YouTube Music etc. The paper intends to understand the efficiency of the algorithms used in the apps for gaining customer trust. This chapter explores the ethical challenges of AI in Marketing from the perspective of music recommendation systems. The broad objectives of the study were to study the factors that influence perceived trustworthiness/ethical alignment of music recommendation systems and to conduct a Focus Group Discussion for preliminary validation of the variables identified in the conceptual framework
