The catastrophic impacts of various threats are often self-inflicted by human activities lacking awareness of geomorphological dynamics. Emergencies are typically managed with static protocols, worsening systemic fragility. This paper proposes a paradigm shift from reactive, stage-based approaches to dynamic, interdisciplinary processes. Focusing on the city of Quito, Ecuador, the study outlines three methodological phases—analytical, interpretive, and operative—advocating for resilient, morphogenetic, and adaptive spatial strategies. The goal is to predispose territories for transformation before disaster strikes, integrating architecture, urbanism, and landscape into anticipatory design processes.
