Emotional Manipulation in AI-Generated Content: A Look into Digital Moral Injustice

Over the past few years, artificial intelligence (AI) has advanced from merely being an automator and has become a content creator, writing, generating images, producing videos, and even human-like conversations. The advances have redefined the way people interact on digital platforms and the way feelings are shaped online. What seemed like neutral technology in the past is now able to shape feelings through algorithms of persuasion, targeted suggestions, and synthetic media.Although this opens doors for personalization and creativity, it also subjects the users to subtle manipulation.AI systems may take advantage of trust, amplify outrage or fear, and spread disinformation via deep fakes and other synthetic materials. These practices pose grave ethical concerns, leading to digital moral injustice where human dignity, fairness, and autonomy are infringed. This paper examines the mechanisms of emotional manipulation in AI-written content, its social and psychological impact, and existing ethical and regulatory measures. It advocates for the immediate formation of responsible AI standards that insulate users from exploitation while ensuring innovation continues to align with human values.
