AI-Driven Cyber-Physical Systems and IoT for Enabling Intelligent, Secure, and Adaptive Ecosystems

The Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) are pacesetters to advance intelligent and connected environments, and their ubiquitous adoption will bring radical impact to critical domains including smart cities, healthcare, and autonomous systems. The transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the CPS-IoT ecosystems is investigated in this paper. With AI, real time decision making, predictive maintenance, and even system optimisation is possible — all possible while solving the problem of scalability, latency, adaptability in highly dynamic environments. This paper provides unique insights into the convergence of AI, CPSs and IoT by presenting novel technologies like edge computing, digital twins, and AI-based cybersecurity. Overall, these advances illustrate the potential of AI-driven CPSs to realize next generation smarter, safer and more efficient systems. Finally, the paper also discusses critical challenges, primarily related to data privacy, ethical considerations as well as interoperability and suggests possible ways to overcome these barriers. The main findings underscore AI’s central importance to next generation CPS-IoT systems and suggest a pathway for building secure, adaptive, and sustainable infrastructures.
