Unified Prompt Intelligence Framework (UPIF)

This whitepaper introduces the Unified Prompt Intelligence Framework (UPIF), a modular protocol designed to orchestrate, attribute, and govern prompts in generative AI systems. As large language models and multi-modal AI become embedded into critical infrastructure, UPIF provides a foundational architecture that transforms prompts from ephemeral input into structured, auditable, and policy-aligned digital assets. UPIF defines a seven-layer stack encompassing real-time co-prompting, cross-modal translation, personalized prompt adaptation, prompt attribution and versioning, compliance filtering, tone/brand enforcement, and adaptive feedback loops. It is model-agnostic, compliance-ready (GDPR, COPPA, EU AI Act), and applicable across enterprise, educational, and creative platforms. This framework establishes a new infrastructure layer—PromptOps—to fill a critical gap in the generative AI ecosystem by embedding governance before generation.
