ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN STEAM EDUCATION: TRANSFORMING LEARNING IN HEALTH AND MOVEMENT SCIENCES

This chapter focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) within the framework of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education and its implications for healthcare, particularly rehabilitation science. It examines how AI, driven by machine learning, enhances clinical decision-making, supports personalized learning, and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration. It highlights the role of STEAM in fostering essential competencies such as critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, while also exploring the application of AI in areas such as adaptive learning, real-time data analysis, and patient-centered rehabilitation interventions. Further, it discusses the contribution of emerging technologies, including virtual reality and three-dimensional modeling, in advancing medical education and clinical training. In addition, the chapter addresses key challenges associated with AI integration, including ethical concerns, infrastructural limitations, and the need for educator preparedness. Overall, it emphasizes the importance of structured frameworks and interdisciplinary approaches to effectively harness AI for improving educational outcomes and healthcare delivery.
