Adoption Attitudes toward Generative AI in the Game Development Industry: the Moderating Role of Experience
This paper presents the results of the study focused on attitudes towards generative AI in the context of its use in video game development and its dependence on work experience. It explores an area that researchers have not yet devoted much attention to - the concerns and hopes of current and future industry workers. Those factors should be examined to understand the prevailing sentiments among employees in creative industries. The results obtained for 175 participants confirm the difference in perspectives between professionals of various experience levels and students in their perceptions of generative AI. The most negative attitude towards this technology is among low-experienced professionals which have even more negative attitude than less experienced students. The transformation to a positive attitude takes about five years of work in the industry and remains the same in subsequent years of work.
