Virtual Agents

In this chapter, we will give an overview of AI methods for autonomous virtual agents. It will cover the different components of a Virtual Agent, which are general actions that are not meant for communication, plus the two major elements of communication: speech and non-verbal communication. These include applying the latest Large Language Models and generative AI. We will end by proposing a general architecture for virtual agents.
