Artificial Intelligence in Language Learning: Exploring Benefits and Barriers

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing education very quickly, especially in the area of language learning. AI-based tools like chatbots, virtual tutors, speech-to-text systems, and personalized learning apps make learning a new language more interesting, easier to use, and faster. These tools also help students practice anytime and anywhere, give instant feedback, and support different learning styles. However, using AI in language learning also comes with challenges. Some students may struggle with technology, data privacy issues need attention, and not all AI tools understand cultural or emotional aspects of language. This study discusses both the benefits and the difficulties of using AI in language education. It concludes that AI should work together with teachers and traditional methods, supporting learners while teachers guide, motivate, and help students improve real communication skills.
