Development of an AI-Based Senior High School Strand Recommendation System Using Academic Performance and Interests for Pangutaran National High School
This study presents the development of an AI-based Senior High School strand recommendation system for Grade 10 students of Pangutaran National High School. The system analyzes students’ academic performance, subject preferences, interests, skills, and career goals using rule-based recommendation logic to suggest a suitable senior high school strand, including STEM, ABM, HUMSS, GAS, and TVL. It provides a user-friendly mobile interface where students can enter their academic information, complete a self-assessment, and view their recommended strand. The generated recommendation serves only as an academic decision-support guide and does not replace the final decision of the student, parent, adviser, or school administration. The project aims to make the strand selection process more structured, consistent, accessible, and aligned with students’ academic strengths, interests, and future career goals.
