Cooperative Positioning (CP) technology using the Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) as the tool makes it possible for high precision vehicle positioning. Based on the traditional vehicle Cooperation and Doppler Carrier Frequency Offset (CDCFO) method, a vehicle positioning enhancement system is proposed. The Global Positioning System (GPS) and Dead Reckoning (DR) are used in this system to preprocess the vehicle information received by GPS receiver. Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN) is used to detect the vehicle driving environmental condition. CP processing is performed for vehicles driven in multipath effect areas. In this paper, the functions of location information preprocessing and the selection of the neighbors are added, which can avoid the problem that the positioning accuracy of the target vehicle decreases due to the insufficient accuracy of the neighbors. It’s evident from the simulation results that the system can deal with multipath effect well without additional devices and improve positioning accuracy.
