Reconfiguration of Distribution Systems Aiming for Accumulated Impedance Balancing among Feeders Through Genetic Algorithm

In this paper we present the implementation of a Genetic Algorithm to solve the distribution network reconfiguration problem aiming the balance of feeders by accumulated impedance. To validate this study, the proposed method was compared with four other algorithms: Kruskal, Reverse Exclusion, Prim and Borůvka. The tests were carried out in well-known systems in the literature. The study emphasizes the importance of impedance in the electrical system and shows that impedance accumulation balancing generates efficient configurations. In addition, the results showed the greater efficiency of the genetic algorithm to solve the problem in relation to the algorithms tested.
