Multi-criteria decision for machining process plan evaluation using fuzzy logic modeling and feature based method

Abstract Machining is mostly used to transform raw material into a finished part before assembly to become benefit products and machinery. CAD/CAM is used to assist an engineer to create a part and tool part together with an NC code for a CNC machine. Process planning plays a key role in machining efficiency and optimization. This paper purposes a multi-criteria decision for machining process plan evaluation using fuzzy logic modeling and feature-based design representation with the condition of time, cost, tool life, precision, and surface. The results showed the alternative of the best machining process plan.

Abstract

Abstract Machining is mostly used to transform raw material into a finished part before assembly to become benefit products and machinery. CAD/CAM is used to assist an engineer to create a part and tool part together with an NC code for a CNC machine. Process planning plays a key role in machining efficiency and optimization. This paper purposes a multi-criteria decision for machining process plan evaluation using fuzzy logic modeling and feature-based design representation with the condition of time, cost, tool life, precision, and surface. The results showed the alternative of the best machining process plan.
