Implementation of Helmet Mounted Display system to Control Missile 3D Movement and Object Detection

This paper proposes a prototype of a helmet mounted display system which has the ability to control the movement of the missile and helps aiming at the enemy. It is a helmet specially made for the fighter pilots to have a correct and easier aim at the enemy. If it is worn by the pilot it would make it easier for him to aim without any complex controls. In this prototype, the movement of the missile is controlled by the movement of the pilots head with the help of an accelerometer/gyro meter. This helmet is fully wireless and helps the pilot to aim and shoot at the enemy and destroy them in air. This helmet also includes a high definition camera which would help the pilot to get the clear and better picture of the enemy even if it is far. This helmet is also equipped with a GPS so as to get the precise location of the enemy [10]–[15] if it is not visible and to know its presence. Apart from that, this design of helmet mounted display is very light as it contains a camera and some controlling device.
