In order to permanently monitor the environmental radiation which could result in radiological hazards but also to improve accuracy of scientific results regarding cosmic particles, new systems are being developed. However, from various causes these systems are prone to errors and false alarms can be triggered thus any change in the operating parameters of the radiation detection systems has to be detected immediately. The main objective of this paper is to provide a universal solution for automatic monitoring of radiation detection systems. The proposed software solution fulfills the high-level objectives of this paper – the implementation of a software solution which automatically monitors a radiation detection system. The solution was developed and works for a specific system, but it can be used for other detection systems as well with minor changes such as definition of the class attributes.
