GaN Subwavelength Gratings by Machine Learning Design

We present the machine learning based design of a polynomial-shaped GaN subwavelength grating for maximum stopband reflectivity using heuristic algorithms. We show significant enhancements in the stopband width (SBW) over that of an optimized GaN rectangular grating design with similar layering.
