A Study on Standardized Paths for Compliance Application of Artificial Intelligence Technology in China National Standard Archives Management
This paper introduces the policies and regulations related to archives and standards in China. A more comprehensive definition of standard archives is proposed by combining those policies and regulations with the characteristics of standards literature. The relationship between standard record filing and standard archiving has been discussed. Subsequently, the history of China national standard archives construction has been reviewed. The possibility of compliant application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in China national standard archives management has been explored and related risks have been analyzed. The article concludes with a recommendation that future systematic standardization efforts should focus on three dimensions: technical standards, operating procedures, and governance specifications. That means the challenges posed by the rapid iteration of AI technology to the compliant use of AI technology in China national standard archives management can be addressed through establishing an AI-driven technical standards system for the whole life cycle of China national standard archives, constructing a standards system of operating procedures for the whole process of China national standard archives in an intelligent environment, and forming a standards system of AI governance specifications to safeguard archives completeness, accuracy, usability, and security requirements.
