Ethical Considerations in Integrating Artificial Intelligence for Teacher Education: A Thematic Documentation Analysis
Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technology into teacher education presents significant opportunities but raises complex ethical challenges, including concerns over data privacy, algorithmic bias, and academic integrity. These issues threaten educational equity and students' critical thinking development and necessitate re-evaluating traditional roles and responsibilities in education. This study conducts a thematic documentation analysis of relevant literature from the past five years to address these concerns. By encoding and classifying extensive research documents, the article systematically identifies and evaluates key ethical considerations in integrating AI in teacher education, offering a theoretical framework for responsible technology governance. The findings reveal four primary research themes, each discussed in detail. The study concludes by outlining its limitations and proposing directions for future research. Ultimately, it emphasizes that AI's integration into teacher education must be ethically grounded, ensuring the balanced advancement of educational equity and humanistic values through technological transparency, dynamic policy refinement, and the evolving role of educators.
