This invention discloses a technique of computer network defense. The technique is called Random IP-Security (RIP-Sec) 30, and it may preferably be deployed in the gateway 18 and other routers 20 of a computer network. The RIP Sec 30 technique uses a unique randomization of the existing artifacts of a data packet. These artifacts of a data packet are IP addresses of the packet. The unique randomization is able to substitute one value of the artifact with another exactly identical value of the artifact, that is, an IP address is replaced by another IP address, where the replaced IP address have no relationship to the original IP address, they having been derived from a unique randomization process of the original data.
