(TCF/TFB) Observation on Voice Interfaces and Safety Through User Interruption

This publication presents an observational note on safety and intent fidelity in voice-based artificial intelligence interfaces. It documents a practical distinction between systems that provide explicit user-controlled turn-taking (push-to-talk / start–stop interaction) and systems that rely on automatic silence detection. The observation highlights how explicit interruption capability allows users to halt, correct, and reorient input before a response is consolidated, reducing risks of unintended auto-completion, misinterpreted intent, and loss of interaction control. The focus is not on internal model architecture, but on the governance of human–AI interaction at the input level. This work is published as a supplementary observation to an existing ethical and governance framework for AI, without modifying or extending its core logic. It aims to contribute a practical perspective on interaction safety, user responsibility, and input protection in continuous voice-based systems.
