Design of fuzzy logic system for traffic scheduling is presented for the case of bidirectional traffic of personal rapid transit rail vehicles under reduced traffic flow conditions due to obstruction, which mandates diverting of local traffic. The proposed traffic scheduling system has been verified against the conventional traffic control system under stochastic conditions of incoming traffic at both sides of the partially-obstructed traffic corridor under examination.

Abstract
Design of fuzzy logic system for traffic scheduling is presented for the case of bidirectional traffic of personal rapid transit rail vehicles under reduced traffic flow conditions due to obstruction, which mandates diverting of local traffic. The proposed traffic scheduling system has been verified against the conventional traffic control system under stochastic conditions of incoming traffic at both sides of the partially-obstructed traffic corridor under examination.
