Reshaping the LMS IT Architecture and Educators Methodology through Blended Learning Approach
The learning-teaching process is essentially conditioned by the disseminated knowledge quality and the improvement brought by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) used, a fact confirmed by the numerous names under which the education process is performed today: e-learning, virtual learning, computer-assisted learning, online training, web-based learning, face-to-face (F2F)/online/distance/hybrid/blended learning. All these learning forms currently used in the learning process allow the students to acquire and structure knowledge to build their models of the information and environment perception, according to the specific teaching and learning (T&L) needs of each one. Starting from detailing available technologies, the technological constraints, and the impact of these learning management systems (LMS) on the teaching process, this paper aims to adopt a new IT Architecture for learning management systems, based on theory and mental findings, that refers to the system functioning in optimal parameters, while providing support for the multitude of events that may occur during its operation.
