Low Level Modelling of Discrete Systems

Selected examples of discrete dynamic systems are presented, including event graphs, queueing systems, model of production line and control principles based on ladder diagrams and basic Petri net model. All examples are implemented using small open source library in C-language, which we have created for educational and study purposes, including document with tasks and examples ready to compile and run. Basic ideas and features of this library are explained. The source code is kept as short as possible to show the core principles, for educational purposes. Mentioned examples are a part of tasks, our students get in the bachelor course Modelling and Simulation.

Abstract

Selected examples of discrete dynamic systems are presented, including event graphs, queueing systems, model of production line and control principles based on ladder diagrams and basic Petri net model. All examples are implemented using small open source library in C-language, which we have created for educational and study purposes, including document with tasks and examples ready to compile and run. Basic ideas and features of this library are explained. The source code is kept as short as possible to show the core principles, for educational purposes. Mentioned examples are a part of tasks, our students get in the bachelor course Modelling and Simulation.
