SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISTRIBUTING QUERIES TO A GROUP OF DATABASES AND EXPEDITING DATA ACCESS

Systems, methods, and computer readable media for expediting data access. The method embodiment may comprise the steps returning a result to a query for information requested from a hybrid database. The hybrid database may be constructed by: (1) identifying source member databases where query acceleration is required, and for each of the identified source member databases, performing the following steps: (2) identifying common dimensions or grouping patterns, (3) creating sets of commonly occurring common dimensions, (4) building multi-dimensional databases, (5) building one or more sampled databases, (6) compacting the sampled databases into a master sampled database, (7) building a hybrid database metadata repository combining metadata from the master sampled database and the one or more multi-dimensional databases, together referred to as an answers catalog, and source member databases, and (8) building a query governor to federate the query to the source member databases and their associated answers catalogs.
