Economy of the Future Commission Act of 2026

Establishes the Economy of the Future Commission to develop legislative recommendations addressing economic changes from artificial intelligence (AI) adoption. Requires the Commission to evaluate impacts of AI on workforce development, education, social safety nets, and government standards. Prescribes the creation of strategies for AI research investment and partnerships, and addresses AI in autonomous vehicles, energy needs, and AI-enabled robotics. Instructs the Commission to prepare interim and final reports on AI's economic impacts, including employment and revenue forecasts. Specifies the composition of the Commission, including ten congressional appointees and multiple non-voting Deputy Secretaries. Authorizes the Commission to conduct hearings, issue subpoenas, and secure information from federal agencies. Exempts the Commission from the Federal Advisory Committee Act and the Freedom of Information Act. Provides a budget of $5,250,000 and specifies the termination of the Commission 120 days after the final report’s submission.
