Abstract Purpose This study investigates artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in Human Resource Management (HRM) for sustainable economic, social, and environmental growth, particularly in academic institutions. The major purpose is to measure AI adoption in HR practices such as recruitment, performance management, engagement, and learning, thereby analyzing AI benefits for sustainability, determining ethical and strategic concerns in AI adoption in HRM for sustainability, and developing a framework to harmonize AI-facilitated HR practices with growth objectives for organizations and policymakers. Need for Study There are minimal research studies into the convergence of AI, HR, and sustainability as a single approach. This gap triggered the current Study. Methodology The study utilized a descriptive research design that follows a cross-sectional approach. The sample design opted for here is judgmental sampling. The instrument used to collect primary data is a structured interview schedule, and the secondary sources of data are websites, blogs, journals, newspapers, and articles. Findings The results confirm that AI-augmented HRM has a substantial effect on development. The study’s findings indicate that the organization’s authorities should focus on the purpose and the humane aspects of the organization, instead of only emphasizing on implementing digital or techno culture for digital/techno culture’s sake when integrating AI-enhanced HRM systems to usher in sustainability. Practical Implications The effective integration of AI-enhanced HRM can significantly contribute to the sustainability of organizations, particularly in developing countries like India, and the organization’s strategy plays a crucial role in this.
