Abstract
Learning Management Systems (LMS) are an essential part of the teaching and learning environmenttoday. In this study we evaluateda number of existing Learning Management Systems (LMS) based on their user-centered heuristics. Ranked by their priority we compared the most commonly used tasks that students and instructorsperform via an LMS. Weoutlinedan interface design paradigm that is naturally integrated with the five core features of the Next Generation Digital Learning Environment standard for future LMS.
