Eliminating Bias in Algorithmic Systems Act of 2026

Requires each covered agency that uses, funds, or regulates algorithms to establish an office of civil rights focused on bias, discrimination, and other harms associated with algorithms. Tasks these offices with employing experts to address issues related to algorithmic impacts on protected characteristics. Instructs these offices to submit biennial reports to congressional committees, detailing their findings on algorithm-related biases and discrimination, actions taken to mitigate these harms, stakeholder engagement, and legislative recommendations. Directs the Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice to form an interagency working group focused on covered algorithms and civil rights. Allocates necessary funding to covered agencies to implement the Act’s provisions.
