Requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct a study within 18 months on AI applications in the healthcare industry. Directs the study to include evaluation of AI in reducing administrative burdens, improving data interoperability, and enhancing cybersecurity measures against threats like ransomware. Instructs the Secretary to consult with various stakeholders including NIST, NIH, developers, and healthcare providers during the study. Mandates a report, due 6 months after the study, detailing findings, existing AI tool assessments, recommendations for future AI-related research, and policy options to Congress. Ensures any AI deployment supports administrative efficiency and strong patient privacy protections.
